Heat Up Mornings For Your Customers!

Many people wait for hot water each morning before showering. A similar thing happens when people operate other sinks, dishwashers and washing machines. Fortunately, this problem can be solved with new technology that provides faster hot water.

This eco friendly innovative new technology provides a hot water recirculation system that saves hot water, saves energy, is convenient to use and easy to install (not requiring pipe cutting or electrical wiring). This system is typically used on retrofits but may also be installed on new construction. It consists of an adjustable temperature controlled thermal convection powered hot water recirculation valve installed under the plumbing fixture farthest from the water heater. The system contains a sensor, which opens the valve only when the water temperature drops below the adjustable temperature setting.

To get instant hot water (as often found at hotels and other institutions), normally you would need to have a dedicated loop in the piping system that circulates hot water back to the water heater. Most houses do not have a dedicated loop (the hot water pipe typically dead ends at the plumbing fixture that is farthest away from the heater). It difficult to install an effective dedicated return loop in an existing home due to the proximity of pipes (behind walls, under floors, in attics and etc.)

But, you don’t have to install a dedicated return loop if you choose to use a modern recirculating system. Better systems employ a nifty temperature actuated bypass valve that connects the cold and hot water supply lines at the fixture that is farthest away from the water heater. The bypass valve uses the cold water line as the return loop back to the water heater.

Not all recirculating pump systems are the same. Some systems do not have temperature control and require pumps, start buttons and timers.  The systems that use pumps, timers and pushbuttons can not only be difficult to install and noisy, they also require pump replacement every 2-4 years…the most convenient systems (with the best warranty) are pump-less with temperature control.
